The Newsletters of the SVAA

Lt. Daniel K. Kehoe, (Ret.)

The Pager

In the late-1980s, a monthly newsletter was created to keep the SVAA members informed. The Pager was created and published mostly by myself, and later taken on by Don Miner who also converted it to an electronically distributed newsletter called The ePager.

The original newsletter was created using DECwrite word processing, and to my knowledge no source documents exist today—though some hardcopies are undoubtedly floating around in the file cabinets of the SVAA, and in some older members’ homes.

The Responder

The success of The Pager led to creating a public version called The Responder to be mailed out with giving envelopes in support the annual fund drive. Suffering the same fate as The Pager (the early electronic originals are long lost), I did have hardcopies of these in my archives, and have scanned them in for your convenience:

The pages of these newsletters contain information not easily found elsewhere, including timelines of the decade-long saga of the SVAA’s need for a new facility.

Suffield Historical Society Newsletter “Stony Brook Currents”

The SVAA’s 50th Anniversary was featured in the Suffield Historical Society’s June 2026 Newsletter, Stony Brook Currents linked below. (Note: A typo in my article there lists me as age 51 when the PAT Team was founded—actually I was 41. There may be other slight corrections needed to timelines that I have tried to correct via this website, using new information learned after publication.)
